Event Details

One of our biggest and most exciting event happens near the beginning of Term 2 to help you stay focused, motivated, and inspired!  What better way to stay pumped up in the middle of winter than hearing a group of professional entrepreneurs share their stories from the beginning?!  It's guaranteed to inspire you to turn your dreams into action!

This year’s Entrepreneurship Panel will feature amazing entrepreneurs from the local community who will be with us to talk about themselves and how they started their business… and of course, you'll have the opportunity to ask as many questions as you'd like!  You'll also get the chance to meet ambitious young women like yourself!

Included in the Panel is:

Lori Braha - President of WA-2! Water Company Ltd.  Began as part of an internship requirement in 2001 for her MBA at the University of British Columbia.

Tien Ching - As a teenager, Tien grew up in Gansu province in China and witnessed extreme poverty.  After leaving China, she established the Educating Girls of Rural China charity. EGRC’s mission is to assist young women from impoverished rural areas of the Gansu province in China to obtain a university education.

Lisa Larue - Last Fall, Lisa and two other women opened a cupcake shop in Kelowna, BC. It was an idea they got from the states, and they didn’t know how the community would react to a specialty store that only offered cupcakes. She came up with the business idea one day while watching television. American talk-show host Oprah Winfrey was reciting a list of her favourite things which included cupcakes from a California, USA bakery. Their goal was to open five stores in the first year, but opened 13 instead.

Debra Lykkemark - founder/CEO Culinary Capers

These are just three out of the many incredible entrepreneurs YWiB brings you!  Don't wait, register to reserve your spot today!
